Meet the Dentist
Meet Dr. Thelam
Dr. Nguyen received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University Of Toronto School Of Dentistry. Following graduation, he practiced in his hometown of Kitchener/Waterloo for 20 years, honing his skills before opening his dream office in the city of Burlington. His love for dentistry had lead Dr. Nguyen to extensive leading edge continued education, training in areas of Implant Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Periodontal Surgery and Adult Orthodontics. In 2009, Dr. Nguyen attended world-renowned Dawson Academy where he trained in advanced restorative and full-mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. His vision of the patient centered clinic is a reality at Tansley Woods Dentistry where you can expect unparallel service. He is passionate and strives to cultivate long term patient relationship through high standard individualized dental care, honesty and compassion. In his spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys food, wine, golfing, travelling and spending time with his wife Mai and his children Elie, Morgan and Lucas.

Practice Administrator
Mai has a background in medical science and a passion for customer service. Her enthusiastic attitude and commitment to high standards help keep the office operating efficiently. Her kindness and desire to make our patients comfortable will ensure that your initial visit is a pleasant one. Mai is an extreme foodie, both in front and behind the kitchen. She enjoys film, photography and spending time with her family.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Ashleigh graduated from the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene in 2007. “Your gums bleed because you don’t floss” isn’t something you will hear when you are in her chair! She takes time to explain the causes and prevention of the dental disease process in a way that leaves her client feeling motivated to make oral health a priority. She takes pride in her natural ability to relieve dental anxiety with her caring and upbeat personality. In her spare time, Ashleigh enjoys spending time with her dog Alexis and reading true crime novels.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Katie received her diploma in Dental Hygiene from Canadore College in 2002, previously, graduating from Fanshawe College in Dental Assisting. She has been interested in dentistry since childhood and enjoys personalizing individual care while focusing on oral disease prevention. She frequently gets compliments on how thorough and gentle she is an operator, putting patients at ease in her calm environment. Katie has two daughters and enjoys travelling, cooking, music and spending time with family.
Certified Dental Assistant II
Maira joined our team as a Certified Dental Assistant Level II in 2024 and has quickly become an invaluable member, working closely with Dr. Nguyen. She earned her Level II certification in 2020 after successfully completing the national NDAEB exam. With years of experience in dental offices, laboratories, and administration, Maira brings a well-rounded skill set to her role. Her passion for dentistry started in childhood, and her playful, approachable nature makes her especially popular with our younger patients. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, Maira is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Outside of the office, she enjoys staying current with dental seminars, spending time with her family, and indulging in true crime documentaries and reality TV shows.
